HSYS

In November 2022 a massive data exposure occurred within the Turkish Public Health Management System known as Halk Sagligi Yonetim Sistemi or HSYS. The incident involved an unsecured database that exposed sensitive records of over 100 million individuals including both living and deceased citizens. The data set surfaced on various dark web forums and underground marketplaces. The breach contained highly sensitive personal identifiers and family links which could be exploited for identity theft or social engineering attacks against the Turkish population.
