In early January 2023, the American educational platform ID Tech, which specializes in technology summer camps for children, suffered a significant data breach. An unauthorized party gained access to the systems, resulting in the exposure of approximately one million records. The leaked data includes sensitive information such as full names, usernames, dates of birth, and most critically, passwords stored in plain text format. This security failure poses a high risk to users due to the lack of encryption on credential data.
