In 2022 the Russian software developer IgroSoft experienced a data security incident resulting in the exposure of its user database. The company is well known for creating slot machine software and gambling systems. The breach involved unauthorized access to internal records containing sensitive user information. Forensic analysis indicates that the exposed data included email addresses, full names, telephone numbers, and account nicknames. Crucially, passwords were also compromised in the form of MD5 hashes with salt, which necessitates immediate security updates for affected individuals to prevent credential stuffing attacks across other platforms.
