In June 2024 a data leak affected the Russian online store IM-Market which specializes in projectors and related accessories. The incident resulted in the exposure of a user database containing sensitive personal information. The breach compromised account details for approximately 700 registered customers. The exposed data includes email addresses, full names, and site nicknames. Additionally, user passwords stored as MD5 hashes were part of the leaked records which poses a security risk as MD5 is considered a weak cryptographic algorithm susceptible to cracking.
