In early 2021 the French marketing agency Influentia.fr was identified as the source of a massive data collection operation involving Instagram user profiles. The data was obtained through automated web scraping techniques and was subsequently exposed online. The database contains approximately 50 million records including public profile details such as full names, account biographies, age, language settings, and engagement metrics like follower counts. This collection was distributed in two slightly different versions across various underground forums and data sharing platforms, highlighting the risks of large scale social media data harvesting.
