InnoGames

In June 2016 the InnoGames gaming forum experienced a significant data breach affecting approximately 652 thousand user accounts. The incident resulted in the unauthorized exposure of sensitive member information including usernames and email addresses. Technical analysis revealed that the leaked data also contained IP addresses and passwords stored using the MD5 hashing algorithm which is considered cryptographically weak and susceptible to cracking. The breach impacted various community members across the developer portfolio of games.
