In January 2021 the Ukrainian online store ItMag specialized in mobile electronics and accessories experienced a significant data breach. The incident led to the public exposure of a database containing information for approximately 38000 customers. The leaked data included sensitive personal details such as email addresses, full names, mobile phone numbers, and user nicknames. Additionally, user passwords stored as MD5 hashes were compromised which poses a security risk due to the vulnerability of this hashing algorithm to decryption attacks.
