Jamtangan

In July 2021 the Indonesian online watch retailer Jamtangan also known as Machtwatch suffered a data breach. The incident led to the exposure of sensitive user information including email addresses and physical names. Technical details revealed that passwords were stored using the MD5 hashing algorithm which is considered weak by modern security standards. The leak impacted approximately 434 thousand registered customers and surfaced on various underground forums shortly after the compromise occurred through an exploitation of the platform infrastructure.
