Job.sy

In March 2020 the Syrian job recruitment platform Job.sy suffered a significant data breach. The incident involved the exposure of approximately 80000 user records. The leaked database contained sensitive information including full names in both Arabic and English languages. Additionally the breach included user email addresses and phone numbers. Security researchers noted that passwords were stored as MD5 hashes which are considered cryptographically weak and susceptible to cracking. The leak surfaced on various underground forums providing a snapshot of the platforms user base at that time.
