About this leak
In March 2021 the pirate movie streaming website KinoKong suffered a data breach that exposed information for approximately 824 thousand users. The incident occurred due to vulnerabilities in the Bitrix platform used by the site. The exposed data included user names and email addresses along with passwords stored as Bitrix hashes. A significant portion of the database consisted of bot accounts because the website lacked captcha protection at the time of the incident. This security failure allowed automated registrations to clutter the user base before the data was eventually leaked and circulated in the darknet community.
