KM.RU

In February 2016 the Russian web portal and email service KM.RU suffered a significant security breach. An unknown attacker managed to compromise the user database resulting in the exposure of approximately 1.5 million user accounts. The breach was part of a larger campaign targeting various Russian digital services during that period. The leaked data included sensitive personal information such as birth dates and security questions with their corresponding answers which poses a high risk of identity theft and unauthorized account access for the affected users.
