About this leak

A massive data breach involving the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Kominfo surfaced in August 2022. A threat actor known as Bjorka claimed responsibility for leaking a database containing 1.3 billion SIM card registration records. The data was collected due to a 2017 government mandate requiring all mobile users to register SIM cards with their National Identity Card KTP and Family Card KK numbers. The incident exposed sensitive personal identification details of nearly the entire population of mobile users in Indonesia.
