On November 30 2019 the Russian electronics and household appliances online retailer Kotofoto.ru suffered a significant security breach. An unauthorized party managed to gain access to the backend database of the website leading to the exfiltration of sensitive user information. The incident exposed private details of approximately 15000 registered customers which were subsequently leaked on the internet. The breach involved direct access to user accounts and personal identifiers stored within the e-commerce platform infrastructure.
