In October 2019 the Australian mathematical education service K7Maths experienced a significant data security incident. An unauthorized party gained access to the platform database containing information of approximately one million users. The exposed data included full names email addresses and educational institutions where users were affiliated. Furthermore passwords stored as bcrypt hashes were part of the leaked dataset. This breach impacted students and educators primarily located in Australia who utilized the services digital learning resources.
