In October 2023 the Russian culinary portal Kuking.net suffered a significant data breach exposing information of approximately 132 thousand users. The incident involved the unauthorized access and extraction of a database containing user credentials and activity logs. The leaked data includes email addresses and passwords stored as MD5 hashes with salts. Additionally the breach revealed technical details such as IP addresses and forum metadata including last visit timestamps and user engagement statistics. This exposure poses risks of credential stuffing and phishing attacks for the affected members of the cooking community.
