In mid 2024 the Lalafo classifieds platform which operates primarily in Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan suffered a significant data exposure. An unauthorized party utilized automated web scraping and parsing techniques to collect comprehensive user profiles. The breach resulted in the harvesting of approximately 6 million records including personal identification details and contact information that were publicly or semi publicly available on the platform but aggregated into a single database for malicious use.
