In May 2017 the Russian Minecraft server LastCraft experienced a significant security breach. An unauthorized party managed to compromise the database resulting in the exposure of sensitive user information. The incident affected approximately 166 thousand registered players. The leaked data included internal site identifiers such as nicknames alongside technical data like IP addresses. The most critical part of the leak involved user passwords stored as AuthMe hashes which could potentially be cracked to gain access to accounts across different platforms if users reused credentials.
