About this leak
The Minecraft server known as LavaGuden experienced a significant security breach in early 2019. An unauthorized actor managed to compromise the database resulting in the exposure of sensitive player information. The breach included player nicknames, email addresses, IP addresses, and passwords stored as salted MD5 hashes. This incident affected approximately 7000 users of the Russian gaming community. The exposure of salted hashes still poses a risk as they can be subjected to brute force attacks depending on the salt strength and complexity of the original passwords used by the players.
