In May 2021 the web hosting and social networking platform LeoPays suffered a significant security breach. An unauthorized party gained access to the database resulting in the exposure of sensitive user credentials and personal identifiers. The incident impacted approximately 115 thousand registered members. The data dump included contact details and cryptographic hashes of user passwords which poses a risk of credential stuffing attacks if the hashes are decrypted.
