In January 2017 the LeotVHD website experienced a security breach that resulted in the exposure of its user database. The incident impacted approximately 128 thousand members. The compromised information included user email addresses and passwords which were stored using the insecure MD5 hashing algorithm. This method of storage makes the passwords vulnerable to cracking through brute force or rainbow table attacks. The breach highlights significant weaknesses in the platforms data security practices at that time.
