Lifebox

In June 2022 the French security company Lifebox experienced a significant data breach affecting approximately 74600 customers. The incident involved the exposure of sensitive personal information stored in their database. Security researchers discovered that the leaked records included full names physical addresses email addresses and dates of birth. Furthermore the data contained IP addresses and passwords stored using the insecure MD5 hashing algorithm without any salt making them highly vulnerable to cracking. The exposure posed a severe risk to user privacy and account security for those registered with the service.
