In March 2021 the social network Liker suffered a significant data breach involving the compromise of its user database. The incident was reportedly a retaliatory move following leaks from other platforms like Gab and Parler. The breach exposed sensitive details including Bcrypt hashed passwords and security questions stored in plain text. Hackers managed to gain unauthorized access to the internal storage systems resulting in the disclosure of private messages and extensive user profile information for hundreds of thousands of accounts.
