LinkedIn Dump 119m

In December 2022 a massive dataset containing 119 million records allegedly from LinkedIn was posted on a popular hacking forum. Investigations revealed that while the dump was large, it contained approximately 33 million unique entries. The incident is classified as a collection of data rather than a fresh breach of LinkedIn infrastructure. The data includes email addresses and passwords likely aggregated from previous historical breaches and credential stuffing logs rather than a direct exploitation of the professional social network systems at that time.
