In 2022 the Russian online store Loreleya specializing in beauty salon supplies suffered a data breach. The incident resulted in the unauthorized access to the customer database containing information for approximately 500 users. The compromised data included email addresses, full names, user nicknames, and phone numbers. Notably, passwords were also exposed stored in the outdated and insecure MD5 hash format which is vulnerable to cracking. The breach highlights significant risks for users due to the exposure of personal contact details and credential security failures.
