About this leak
In July 2016 the MacForums website suffered a significant data breach affecting over 326 thousand users. The compromised database included personal information such as usernames, email addresses, IP addresses, and dates of birth. Additionally, passwords stored as MD5 hashes with salt were exposed. The stolen data was subsequently found being traded on dark web hacking forums. Despite the severity of the incident, the forum administrators reportedly failed to provide an official response or notification to the affected user base regarding the security failure.
