In October 2024 a significant data breach occurred at the Russian pharmacy chain Maksavit. An unauthorized party gained access to the internal database and initially offered the data for sale on a dark web forum for 950 USD. Shortly after the database was leaked publicly. The compromised information includes records for approximately 1.2 million customers. The leak is particularly sensitive as it contains not only contact details but also specific medication order histories which reveals private medical information about the affected individuals.
