In January 2022 the professional networking and job search platform Malakye suffered a data breach that exposed the personal information of approximately 232 thousand users. The incident involved the unauthorized acquisition of a database containing sensitive user details. The compromised data included contact information and professional profiles which could potentially be used for targeted phishing attacks or identity theft. The breach was publicly disclosed after the data began circulating in the cybersecurity community.
