In March 2019 Malindo Air experienced a massive data breach involving two cloud based servers. The incident led to the exposure of sensitive passenger information belonging to millions of customers. The breach was attributed to an unauthorized access of passenger files stored on Amazon S3 buckets. Data leaked included full names passport numbers home addresses and contact details. This security failure highlighted significant vulnerabilities in the airlines cloud infrastructure management and third party data handling practices.
