In late 2022 a significant data breach occurred at the French Minecraft community platform MCDev.fr. The incident involved an unauthorized access to the service database resulting in the exposure of sensitive user credentials and personal identifiers. The leak surfaced on various hacking forums where the database was distributed in SQL format. The compromise likely occurred due to a vulnerability in the forum software or misconfigured server permissions allowing external actors to dump the user tables.
