In October 2022 the online gaming platform MegaGamer.org suffered a significant data breach. The incident involved the exposure of a database containing user account information. Security researchers discovered that the leaked records included personal details and login credentials. The breach was attributed to unauthorized access through a vulnerability in the platforms backend systems which allowed hackers to extract the user database. The stolen data was later circulated on darknet forums and telegram channels often used for trading compromised account information.
