Megamarket one of the largest Russian online marketplaces suffered a data breach in 2023. The incident exposed personal details of approximately 42 thousand users. The leaked information originated from a marketing database and included contact details such as phone numbers and email addresses along with physical addresses and individual tax identification numbers. This security failure allowed unauthorized access to internal customer records used for order processing and delivery logistics.
