About this leak
In 2019 the MelonCraft Minecraft server experienced a security breach that resulted in the exposure of its player database. The incident involved the unauthorized extraction of user account details including nicknames and sensitive technical data. The breach was significant within the gaming community as it compromised credentials for hundreds of thousands of active players. Security researchers discovered that the data was stored using AuthMe hashing which was nonetheless part of the public leak. The exposure allowed third parties to access player profiles and potentially use the credentials for credential stuffing attacks on other platforms.
