In June 2018 the MIGOSMC Minecraft server experienced a data breach that resulted in the exposure of player information. The incident involved the publication of a database containing approximately 55 thousand unique records. The leaked data includes player nicknames, IP addresses, and passwords stored as SHA-256 hashes. This breach highlights common security risks associated with private gaming servers where user credentials may be vulnerable to extraction and subsequent distribution on hacking forums.
