In February 2021 the Russian maritime transport information portal MorFlot experienced a significant data breach. The incident resulted in the exposure of personal information belonging to approximately 147 thousand registered users. The leaked data included full names, unique nicknames, and account email addresses. Additionally, the leak contained security credentials in the form of MD5 hashed passwords with salt, user registration dates, and dates of birth. The breach compromised the privacy of professionals and enthusiasts within the marine transport sector who utilized the platforms services.
