In June 2018 the MMORPG Mortal Online suffered a significant data breach. An initial leak exposed approximately 570000 records followed by a more comprehensive release totaling over 607000 unique entries. The compromised data included email addresses associated with player accounts alongside usernames and physical addresses. Crucially the breach involved passwords stored as unsalted MD5 hashes which are highly vulnerable to cracking. This incident allowed unauthorized access to user accounts and personal information within the gaming community.
