MPGH

In October 2015 the popular multiplayer game hacking community known as MPGH suffered a major security breach. An unauthorized party gained access to the forum database resulting in the exposure of approximately 3.1 million user accounts. The breach involved the extraction of sensitive member information from the vBulletin based forum system. Investigations revealed that the attackers exploited vulnerabilities to dump the user table which included salted MD5 password hashes. This incident highlight the risks associated with large gaming forums and the importance of using unique passwords across different online platforms.
