MyBusiness.rf

In May 2023 the national online portal for Russian entrepreneurs known as MyBusiness.rf suffered a significant data exposure. A full SQL database dump was leaked onto the public domain containing records for approximately 207 thousand registered users. The breach involved sensitive details including nicknames and full names of business owners. Technical analysis of the dump revealed that the data included email addresses and mobile phone numbers along with hashed passwords. The passwords were encrypted using the MD5 algorithm with salt which remains vulnerable to certain decryption methods. This platform is a major government backed resource for small and medium enterprises in Russia meaning the leak could facilitate targeted phishing attacks against business owners.
