In November 2022 the Indonesian state owned oil and gas corporation Pertamina experienced a significant data breach affecting its MyPertamina mobile application. The incident involved the exposure of a database containing 44 million records. The leaked information included approximately 6 million unique email addresses alongside sensitive personal details such as full names, dates of birth, gender, physical addresses, and transaction history including specific purchases. The data was allegedly put up for sale on a popular hacking forum by a threat actor known as Bjorka who claimed the breach was a response to fuel price hikes in Indonesia.
