MyPirata

In December 2019 the anime forum MyPirata suffered a significant data breach affecting over five hundred thousand users. The incident involved the exposure of sensitive database records due to vulnerabilities in the forum software. Compromised data included unique usernames, email addresses, and IP addresses. Furthermore, passwords were found to be stored using the weak MD5 hashing algorithm which is highly susceptible to cracking and brute force attacks. The site has since ceased operations and is no longer active.
