Nafham

In November 2021 the Egyptian online educational platform Nafham experienced a significant data breach. The incident led to the exposure of sensitive user information affecting over 416000 accounts. Security researchers discovered that the leaked database contained personal identifiers and security credentials. The compromise involved unauthorized access to the platforms backend infrastructure which allowed attackers to extract user records. Nafham is widely used across the Middle East for crowdsourced educational videos following national curricula and this breach posed a security risk to students and educators using the service.
