FNS 2019

In 2019 a significant data leak occurred involving the Federal Tax Service of Russia. The incident involved the public exposure of over six thousand XML documents containing detailed business information. The breach included data on approximately 3.6 million records related to Russian companies and their owners. Exposed details covered full names of individuals, individual tax numbers known as INN, legal entity codes, and specific data regarding fields of business activity. This exposure originated from open access to internal documents rather than a direct cyberattack on the central database.
