In October 2015 the online anabolic steroid supplier NapsGear suffered a significant data breach. The incident resulted in the exposure of sensitive personal information belonging to approximately 287000 customers. The leaked database contained customer names physical addresses email addresses and phone numbers along with purchase histories. Additionally user passwords were compromised in MD5 hashed format with salt. This leak exposed individuals purchasing controlled substances to potential privacy risks and targeted phishing attacks.
