In June 2023 hackers targeted the Russian network of medical centers known as MK Science or Nauka Lab. The breach resulted in the theft of personal information belonging to approximately 116 thousand users. The compromised data included not only personal identity details but also sensitive appointment records and user reviews. The breach occurred through an unauthorized intrusion by a hacking group which successfully extracted the database containing plaintext credentials and patient contact information.
