In late 2017 the Polish online retailer Neo24 specializing in household appliances and electronics suffered a significant data breach. The incident led to the exposure of personal information belonging to approximately 700000 customers. The leaked data included sensitive details such as full names phone numbers and email addresses. Additionally user passwords were compromised although they were stored as salted MD5 hashes. The breach highlighted vulnerabilities in the security infrastructure of the ecommerce platform during that period.
