In May 2010 the Neteller electronic wallet service suffered a massive data breach affecting over 3.6 million customers. The incident remained undiscovered until October 2015 when the data appeared on the dark web. The compromised information includes personal identification details and financial account balances. The breach was linked to a vulnerability that allowed unauthorized access to the historical user database of the payment processor which is part of the Paysafe Group.
