NextGenUpdate

In early 2014 the video game community website NextGenUpdate suffered a significant data breach that exposed approximately 1.2 million user accounts. The incident involved the unauthorized access and extraction of the forum database. Compromised information included sensitive user details such as usernames email addresses and IP addresses. Additionally passwords were leaked in a hashed and salted format which provided some level of protection but still required users to change their credentials to prevent unauthorized access to their accounts across other platforms.
