NL International

In late 2022 a major data breach involving the network marketing company NL International was identified. The incident involved the exposure of database dumps containing records for approximately 13 million users worldwide. The data was reportedly obtained on October 31 2022. The exposed information included sensitive personal details such as full names email addresses physical addresses dates of birth and educational background. Furthermore the leak contained employment information and passport details. Security analysis revealed that user passwords were included in the dump with a significant portion stored as clear text while others were hashed using the outdated and vulnerable SHA-1 algorithm.
