In April 2021 the OGUsers forum experienced its fourth major security breach since 2018. The incident involved the unauthorized access and subsequent sale of the community database on a rival hacking forum. The compromised data included sensitive member details such as usernames and email addresses along with technical identifiers like IP addresses. Security analysis revealed that passwords were stored as salted hashes using MD5 or Argon2 algorithms. This breach significantly impacted the account security of approximately 348 thousand unique users who were active on the platform known for high value account trading and SIM swapping discussions.
