OilProject.org

In 2022 the educational platform OilProject.org suffered a significant data breach exposing the personal information of over 75 thousand registered users. The incident involved the unauthorized access and extraction of the platforms user database. The leaked data contained sensitive credentials including primary and secondary email addresses along with user nicknames. Furthermore the breach exposed user passwords which were stored using the outdated and vulnerable MD5 hashing algorithm making them highly susceptible to cracking by malicious actors.
