In June 2021 the database of the Russian adult retail chain Onona also known as He and She was exposed online. The breach impacted approximately 270 thousand customers and included sensitive personal information. The leak originated from an unprotected database or a system vulnerability allowing unauthorized access to user records. The data contained MD5 salted hashes of passwords which pose a security risk. This incident highlights vulnerabilities in the digital infrastructure of specialized retail chains in Russia.
